In the KeyCreator 2026 release, the popular Level Tree has been upgraded with 5 new options/commands. Numerous other minor productivity enhancements and upgrades to support major CAD file formats have also been made available.
Growing the Level Tree
The Level Tree is an incredibly powerful layer-style content organization system unique to KeyCreator that provides users with a simple method for managing a design's data structure. The 2026 release adds several new ways for users to visualize where entities are contained in the level tree, and to access them. Giving users an intuitive way to organize complex geometry while maintaining only one file — in contrast with a system of associated parts, each their own file to be managed — is another freedom from constraint that KeyCreator provides.
New Options/Commands include:
- Dynamic Entity Highlighting — see which entities are contained in a selected level
- Find from Viewport — find an entity's location on the Level Tree by selecting in Viewport
- Select Entities — makes a selection of what is highlighted from the Level Tree
- Zoom to Entities — brings an entity forward in the Viewport when selected in Level Tree
- Walk to Entities — use a "forward/back" keyboard command to apply Zoom to Entities on successive entities within a selected level
Greater Interoperability
KeyCreator users that work alongside SolidWorks will appreciate the new option in 2026 to write SolidWorks part and assembly files. This allows SolidWorks and other PLM software that reads SolidWorks to directly access your output without further conversions. Another new export file type in 2026 is glTF, the latest standard 3D format optimized for use on the web.
The major 2026 release of course includes the usual updates to translators and additional user-driven productivity enhancements. Please see our What’s New in 2026 page for additional information.
